Global shutter CMOS reduce pixel size

Point Grey has announced the addition of 3.2 and 5MP CMOS models to its Chameleon3 USB3 Vision and Blackfly GigE Vision camera lines. The latest Chameleon3 and Blackfly models feature Sony’s 2nd gen Pregius sensors and set a benchmark for global shutter CMOS by reducing pixel size and lowering temporal dark noise.

Camera with 1.3 MP CCD sets standard for low cost imaging

Point Grey has announced the addition of a 1.3MP Sharp CCD model to its Blackfly family of GigE Vision cameras. The latest Blackfly BFLY-PGE-13H2 camera models are based on the Sharp RJ33J4CA3DE (mono) and RJ33J3CA3DE (colour) 1/3" global shutter CCD sensors.

USB 3.0 camera line extended with 3.2 & 5MP CMOS models

Expanding its Grasshopper3 USB3 Vision camera line, Point Grey has announced the addition of 3.2 and 5MP CMOS models which feature Sony's 2nd gen Pregius global shutter CMOS sensors. The IMX250 and IMX252 sensors set new benchmarks for global shutter CMOS imaging performance by dramatically reducing pixel size and significantly lowering temporal dark noise.

Camera runs at 149fps at full resolution

Point Grey has released a 1.3MP global shutter CMOS, extending its Chameleon3 family of USB3 Vision cameras. The Chameleon3 CM3-U3-13Y3 model is based on colour and monochrome versions of the ON Semiconductor PYTHON1300, a ½" global shutter CMOS sensor featuring 1280x1024 image resolution. 12MP USB3 camera delivers optimal performance & reliability

Point Grey has expanded its Grasshopper3 USB3 Vision camera line with the addition of a 12MP CCD model. The GS3-U3-120S6 models are based on colour and monochrome versions of the 1" Sony ICX834 global shutter CCD sensor, which features 3.1μm pixels and 4242x2830 image resolution running in dual-tap at 7fps.

USB 3.0 camera is based on the Sony ICX825 CCD sensor

A 1.4MP global shutter CCD camera has been introduced by Point Grey. Expanding the company’s Grasshopper3 family of USB3 Vision cameras, the Grasshopper3 GS3-U3-15S5 is based on colour and monochrome versions of the Sony ICX825, a 2/3" EXview HAD CCD II sensor capable of streaming 1384x1032 resolution images at 45fps.

CCD 200mm wafer line to be discontinued

Point Grey have confirmed that Sony Semiconductor will discontinue operations of their CCD 200mm wafer line at Kagoshima Technology Center in Japan by the end of March 2017. This line is responsible for production of all Sony CCD image sensors used in Point Grey cameras.

Camera can stream 2448x2048px images at 7.5fps

Expanding its GigE Vision camera portfolio, Point Grey has announced the BFLY-PGE-50H5 camera models which are based on Sharp's 5MP CCD mono and colour sensors. The technology has been developed by Sharp to provide highly improved sensitivity and image quality compared with conventional CCDs. Its unique microlens design collects light more efficiently resulting in improved quantum efficiency in the visible and near infrared regions.

  A family of USB3 Vision board-level cameras has been released by Point Grey. The Chameleon3 cameras are available in a 44x35x19.5mm case or as a 40x31mm board stack, making them suitable for a wide range of space-constrained applications.

Camera features Sony IMX249 Pregius global shutter CMOS

A 2.3MP Sony Pregius global shutter CMOS camera has been released by Point Grey, expanding its Blackfly family of GigE Vision cameras. The BFLY-PGE-23S6 is based on colour and monochrome versions of the Sony IMX249, which is a 1/1.2" global shutter CMOS sensor capable of streaming 1920x1200 resolution images at 41fps.

CCD camera is suitable for biometrics & 3D metrology

A 6MP global shutter CCD camera has been released by Point Grey, expanding its Grasshopper3 family of USB3 Vision cameras. The GS3-U3-60QS6 is based on colour and monochrome versions of the Sony ICX694, which is a 1" EXview HAD CCD II sensor capable of streaming 2736x2192 resolution images at 25fps.

Camera is capable of 1920x1080 resolution at 60fps

A camera which features a 12.7mm Sony IMX185 Exmor CMOS sensor, capable of 1920x1080 resolution at 60fps, has been introduced by Point Grey. The CR-POE-20S3C expands the company’s Cricket IP security camera line. To provide outstanding low light performance and a wide dynamic range, the 2.0MP sensor uses the same 3.75µpx structure as the existing 1.3MP Cricket camera with the Sony IMX139.

CCD improves camera's quantum efficiency

Signalling an expansion of the Grasshopper3 GigE Vision PoE camera line, Point Grey has released a 9.1MP CCD (Charge Couple Device) model. The Grasshopper3 GS3-PGE-91S6 model is based on colour and monochrome versions of the 1” Sony ICX814 global shutter CCD sensor, which features 3.69µm pixels and 3376x2704 pixel resolution.

2MP USB3 camera targets inspection, 3D imaging & bioscience

Expanding its line of Flea3 USB3 Vision cameras, Point Grey has introduced a 2MP global shutter CMOS model. The FL3-U3-20E4 cameras use a global shutter CMOS sensor which features 4.5µm2 pixels providing 1600x1200px resolution at 59fps. Featuring smear and distortion-free imaging, this also offers an electronic rolling shutter mode for lower noise and improved dynamic range.

VGA CCD camera offers transition to GigE Vision

A VGA global shutter CCD camera has been released by Point Grey. The BFLY-PGE-03S3, which is part of the Blackfly GigE PoE camera family, is based on the colour and monochrome versions of the Sony ICX414. The Sony ICX414 is a 1/2” CCD with 9.9 µm2 pixels, capable of 648x488 pixel resolution at 90 FPS.

4.1MP camera targets scientific imaging applications

Expanding its portfolio of high quality, high resolution USB 3.0 cameras, Point Grey has introduced a 4.1MP global shutter CCD Grasshopper3 camera. The GS3-U3-41S4 models are based on the Sony ICX808, a 1/1.8" global shutter EXview HAD CCD II sensor featuring 3.1μm square pixels and capable of 2048x2048px resolution at 18 FPS.

Expanding the low-cost Blackfly GigE Vision PoE product line, Point Grey has announced BFLY-U3-13S2 USB 3.0 cameras. The colour and monochrome models are based on the Sony ICX445, a 1/3" EXview HAD global shutter CCD featuring 3.75µm2 pixels and capable of 1288x964 resolution at 30FPS.

A family of high resolution digital cameras has been released by Point Grey. Signalling an expansion of the existing Grasshopper3 USB3 Vision product line, the Grasshopper3 GS3-PGE-23S6 and Grasshopper3 GS3-PGE-60S6 feature Sony CMOS and CCD global shutter devices.
