Actisense are releasing their latest version of the popular OPTO-isolator cable. The NMEA device is an improved version of a popular existing product line, with a brand new design to benefit installers and boat owners alike.
The improvements to the OPTO-4 have been made based on customer feedback, specifically when it comes to space-saving onboard. The much slimmer OPTO-4, with a smaller footprint to ease installation in tight spaces, replaces the OPTO-3 which stops shipping this summer. The new ‘Actisense designed' OPTO-4 case is now over-moulded which will give improved water resistance.

The OPTO-4, the company's opto-isolator cable, is a bi-directional NMEA 0183 (RS422) to RS232 (9-pin serial) interface cable, particularly suited to 'noisy' and/or commercial environments as it provides a complete solution for system builders who require all components to be shielded. The galvanic opto-isolation provides 2000 V protection on the PC input line, offering complete peace of mind, whilst the over-moulded case improves water resistance.

Phil Whitehurst, Managing Director of Active Research Limited said, Our customers have provided us with valuable feedback which has enabled us to make these significant improvements. We are always looking for ways to improve our NMEA product range and the OPTO-4 now leads the way with its design and performance.
