Hamamatsu Photonics introduce a new series of super luminescent diodes, the L11341 series, to their existing range of high performance diodes. The L11341 series features a very high radiant flux of 30mW at a peak wavelength of 1050nm, which is long for an SLD and unique among Hamamatsu’s range.
In common with all SLDs, the L11341 series exhibits very low coherency, especially compared to a typical laser diode. As well as this, unlike an LED, the emission area is very small. The L11341 series is available in a range of packages including Side-out OHS and Head-out OHS types.

These features make the L11341 series suitable for a wide range of applications including ophthalmology, optical gyroscopes, OCT and various measurements, fibre-optic and medical applications.
