Common mode chokes for LED power supply applications
Würth Elektronik has today introduced a new series of common mode chokes, the WE-TFCH family. Featuring a frequency range that is optimized in the area from 9 kHz to 100 MHz, the WE-TFCH series is particularly interesting for LED power supplies. Other applications that require common mode chokes such as the WE-TFCH family include low-profile mains filters.
Offering a height reduction of 20% compared to previous generation components, the WE-TFCH series features a height of just 12.5 mm. This new series of common mode chokes can be universally used in mains filters and SMPS of all kinds.
Reducing symmetric interference compared to conventional components, the WE-TFCH series has a stray inductance of 1%. Operating over a emperature range of -40°C to +125°C, the new common mode chokes are available with inductance values of up to 25mH.
Permitting a broadband suppression of radio interference voltage of up to 65dB, the WE-TFCH series features a smart build while taking up very little space.
