Designed as cost-effective replacements for dichroic halogen lamps, dichroic-effect LED lamps have been released by Verbatim. Using technology developed by parent company Mitsubishi Chemical, Verbatim has provided an energy-efficient alternative to the MR16 and PAR16 halogen lamps popularly used for track lighting, pendant fixtures and retail display lighting.

Due to the necessity of a sizable heatsink, LED manufacturers have previously found it difficult to replicate dichroic lighting. Verbatim’s high quality dichroic MR16 and PAR16 LED lamps deliver a high quality beam without a heatsink, allowing them to fit into standard fixtures while providing all the energy saving benefits of LED lighting.

Featuring a GU5.3 base, the MR16 is a 3.7W dichroic LED lamp which provides optical control with minimal spill and a crisp 35° beam angle. The PAR16 is a 4W dichroic LED lamp which has a GU10 base and offers the same narrow, directional beam angle as the MR16. Both the MR16 and PAR16 LED lamps feature 3000K warm white colour temperature, 480cd luminous intensity and a luminous flux of 250lm at 90° angle.

“Making dichroic-effect LED MR16s without a noticeable heatsink and delivering high performance, reliability and quality at the same time isn’t easy. With supporting technologies from Mitsubishi Chemical, Verbatim has delivered yet another outstanding product that our customers tell us more than matches their needs. Verbatim has introduced many high quality, innovative products LED products in recent months and we are looking forward to unveiling many more high-performance spotlights in 2015,” commented Jeanine Chrobak, Business Commercial Manager, LED EUMEA, Verbatim.
