LED manufacturer handles illumination for OEMs
CoolLED has announced that Prior Scientific has chosen CoolLED as its OEM partner in a collaborative enterprise to satisfy Prior’s customers’ LED illumination requirements. CoolLED was the first to introduce a commercially-available LED illumination unit for fluorescence microscopy and continues to develop products for the life sciences and other markets.
Recent developments in the application of LED technology have resulted in illumination systems offering increased brightness for fluorescence microscopy. CoolLED's pE-4000 features 16 selectable LED wavelengths that can be matched to the filters and fluorophores of almost any microscope, making it the broadest spectrum of illumination available.
As well as requiring intensities to excite common fluorophores such as DAPI, FITC and the growing range of RFPs, the ability to excite into UV and Near InfraRed (NIR) is both desirable and becoming possible.
CoolLED aims to meet these demands with its next-gen LED illumination systems.
CoolLED is able to design and build LED illumination systems to meet the specific needs of OEMs who wish to integrate stable, controllable illumination within products. Working closely with CoolLED engineers, customers are able to define spectral performance and interface.
