With their high contrast and wide viewing angle, OLED displays offer great readability. In its EA OLEDL128-6 product family, ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY now has a display module in its portfolio that offers all these advantages. But there's even more to it than that: it has a life of over 50,000 hours of operation. Another selling point is the rapid response time of this display, which loses nothing of its snap even at arctic temperatures as low as -40°C.

The display modules of the OLEDL128-6 family are available in three versions. The entry version has the type designation OLED128-6LGA. The OLED128-6GGA version of the display is fitted with an additional front screen to protect against scratching and UV rays and to establish a defined distance from the front of the device; the OLED128-6NGA comes without a polariser but does have a silver background, making it suitablefor installation behind a tinted glass screen.

This version also meets higher aesthetic standards for devices intended for use in the home, for instance. The accessories available for all versions include a touch panel that can be used to realise modern, interactive device control systems.

Data exchange with the control electronics is optionally via an SPI or I2C interface. The modules are fitted with connecting pins in a 2.54mm (0.1”) grid, making them suitable both for initial prototypes built on the breadboard and for series production because soldering into a PCB obviates the need for any further assembly techniques or structures.
