Aeon Lighting Technology (ALT) has announced the agreement with CREE in May to reserve production capacity of its latest LED chip—MT-G, in order to compete the leader position of the market.
As expected, from June ALT has dramatically grown up in sales, and received large quantity orders from Australia, Germany, and United States.
That means ALT has great success on this strategy, and also returns the favor to its customers.
The MT-G LED chip is so far the brightest one from CREE, which announced this new product just in February this year. Due to its high lumen efficiency, over 80 lm/w, MT-G has become the most popular products since beginning. Yet, just one month later, in March this year, ALT has launched its first MT-G MR16 LED bulb, with 620 lm in nature white color temperature. Since its high lumen output, the product is able to replace 50 watts halogen bulb directly. The brightness of this product has become the first place among industry. With ALT patterned heat-dissipation and power management technology, the stability and lifespan of this product are unbeatable in market.
LED lighting application is a complete system, including LED chips, driving power, heat dissipation, and optical technology. ALT has dedicated to develop technology among these field and tend to reduce the cost of production and increase competitive. ALT Asteria MR16 with MT-G chipset has already acquired CE, LVD, FCC, UL, and C-tick safety certifications around the world. The product can satisfy in commercial lighting, residential decoration, art exhibition, and landscape lighting. Thus, once the MT-G bulb is into mass production phase, ALT has received numbers of inquiries from North America and Europe area.

ALT and CREE collaborate to build win-win situation

ALT General Manager, Baly Lo, says, to fulfill the commitment to customer, ALT insists to offer the best quality and most safety lighting products to the market. That’s why ALT only adopts the latest and brightest LED chips as our standard products. This time, Mr. Lo specially appreciates the collaboration from CREE to reserve the most popular product -MT-G chips- to ALT, and the assistance to apply to mass-production stage. This flexible supply-demand strategy is not only securing the leader position of ALT but also boosting up CREE MT-G chips market shares, and lead to win-win situation for both ALT and CREE.
According to European Union, incandescent lamps and halogen bulb will be permanently banned in 2012. As expectation, the demand of LED light bulb will be largely increasing. Therefore, who has better R&D ability would have bigger chance to collaborate with leading LED chip vendor than others. ALT is the first manufacturer in Asia to build MT-G chip into MR16 bulb with 550 lm in warm white and 620 lm in nature white, and the power consumption is as low as 7 watts. Yet, the brightness is high enough to substitute 50 watts halogen bulbs. Thus, the MT-G MR16 LED bulb has become the main stream for next generation lighting.
