Marl International is very proud to announce that they are now supplying the UPRtek MK350 LED meter to the UK. The MK350 LED meter is a completely new concept that has been developed to eliminate the need for a separate computer when measuring light by instantly processing the information provided by the image sensor and providing the information on a screen. Coupled with the compact design and miniscule 250g weight, the MK350 LED meter provides an easy and practical way to measure and record light data in home, leisure and industrial applications. Results can be displayed the instant the measurements are made, giving more power to adjust conditions and variables in real time and users also have the option of recording and exporting the data at any time. With these ground-breaking developments the costs and ease of operating a light meter have been greatly improved, meaning that a computer is no longer a requirement when measuring light.
The UPRtek MK350 LED meter has many useful features, the most innovative being the LCD touch screen which delivers a constant stream of information via four different data modes, eliminating the need to carry a separate computer, the data modes include; Basic value mode, Spectrum graph mode, CIE 1931 Chromaticity Diagram Mode and CIE 1976 U.C.S Chromaticity Diagram Mode. The light meter instantly provides the relevant measurements and data on the screen, meaning more measurements can be taken in a shorter space of time without having to save and upload the results of each test.

Also incorporated into the design is an advanced CMOS Linear Image Sensor, meaning the MK350 LED meter uses advanced spectroscopic techniques to measure CRI (Colour Rendering Index), illuminance, chromaticity, dominant wavelength, spectral distribution and colour temperature of virtually any light source, including competently measuring both LED and OLED sources.
Designed with convenience in mind, the MK350 LED meter makes the process of measuring light a quick and easy task, each result is recorded to a removable SD card and saved as either an excel spreadsheet format or as a bitmap data picture.

These files can also be transported via USB cable or SD card to either your computer or external display, making this product as versatile as it is user-friendly. “What really impresses us with this new instrument is the versatility and speed with which a first time user can obtain really useful information about the illumination characteristics of a given light source.” said Adrian Rawlinson, Managing Director of Marl International. “The instrument has already been incorporated into Marl’s own internal production process, used for analysis of critical parameters of chip-on-board lighting modules”.

David Moorhouse, Operations Director also added “Very user-friendly, simple to use, accurate, portable. In the field this is a very useful tool to provide instant read outs to customers and it has revolutionized parts of our production process. Whereas previously, multiple machines, a dark room and several tests were how we tested products, now the only thing required is the MK350 LED meter, making things much easier!”

The MK350 LED meter also helps to ensure a long working life and continued precise measurements by offering two options of recalibration. Customers can opt for a ‘dark’ calibration at any point by simply covering the sensor with the provided sensor cap and running a zero calibration. The other option is a full recalibration which means their light meter must be returned to the qualified specialists at the supplier for a period of time before being sent back fully calibrated and with a calibration report describing the adjustments made. This is offered for free on the initial first calibration, with the customer only paying the transport costs of sending and receiving the equipment to and from the supplier.

The MK350 LED meter is available for purchase and can be shipped from Marl International’s UK premises immediately.
