ISVI has announced the official release of its IC-M12S-CXP, a monochrome 12MP CMOS camera with a CoaXPress CXP6, DIN-4 interface delivering 181fps. The IC-M12S-CXP is based on the CMOSIS CMV12000 v2 high-sensitivity CMOS sensor and replaces its predecessor, the IC-X12CXP, which has been discontinued.

There are several major differences to the previous model. Firstly the size and weight of the camera has been radically reduced to a slim 80x80x36.55mm at 400g without lens mount. The all-new housing design is extremely compact and robust and uses a newly developed sensor positioning design to provide consistently precise sensor alignment. The addition of the LM-Mount to an already large lens mount offering allows integrators to use high-quality Leica-M and Zeiss ZM lenses with this camera.

Completely redesigned DSNU/PRNU correction algorithms achieve the best possible image quality while still allowing the user to calibrate the camera according to his own imaging environment. Special attention has also been paid to thermal management to minimise the effects of temperature oscillation on image consistency. User definable ROI (H&V), exposure delay and strobe output delay round out the major features of this high-speed, high-resolution camera.

“The IC-M12S-CXP showcases ISVI’s expertise in CMOS camera design and manufacturing,” says Gerard White, Vice President, ISVI. “High-end CMOS sensors pose huge challenges to camera design and pre-processing tasks best done in the camera. Our R&D engineers have pulled together many years of experience in this field to create a very successful camera design. With a growing number of users ready to take advantage of the resolution and speed this kind of sensor has to offer, the IC-M12S-CXP is in an excellent position to fulfil those requirements as a high-quality, cost-effective and reliable camera.”
