LED Engin has launched a 4-die, high current, RGBW flat lens LED emitter that sets a new standard for best-in-class flux density in stage, entertainment and architectural lighting. The LZ4-04MDPB emitter delivers more than twice the light output of the company’s previous version because each individually addressable green, blue and white die can be driven at up to 3A and the red die up to 2.5A from the same 2.15x2.15mm light emitting surface as its predecessor.

LED Engin has announced a world record in both flux and power density for high power, multi-colour LED lighting with its latest LZP family of RGBW emitters. The 25-die, 80W emitters deliver 3,800lm, the world’s highest luminous flux density from a 6.2mm2 light emitting area on 12mm2 emitter footprint. This has been achieved through an improved LZP package design that results in the industry’s lowest thermal resistance per package footprint of 0.1°C/W.

LED Engin to unveil groundbreaking white light tunability
LED Engin, Inc will demonstrate its Generation 3.0, award-winning* tunable white light engine at Lightfair (Booth 8008). LuxiTune Generation 3.0 features a 2200 lumen emitter, equivalent to a 120W halogen lamp, that delivers smooth halogen-style dimming from 1600K to 3000K and Correlated Color Temperature (CCT) tuning between 2100K and 4300K. Both tuning curves track the black body curve closely and light intensity (flux) is adjustable from 100% to less than 0.5%, giving lighting designers unprecedented creative freedom. With the complementary secondary optic, luminous efficacy is an industry-leading 63 lumens/W at steady-state temperature and Color Rendering Index (CRI) is 90 at full intensity, being maintained at an average of 85 as the LED is dimmed.

LED Engin, Inc announces immediate availability of LuxiTune, the first intelligent, compact, single emitter light engine that delivers directional light with halogen-style dimming, hugging the black body curve from 3000K down to1800K. Luminous flux is 1100 lumens, equivalent to a 60W halogen lamp. Luminous efficacy is 63 lumens per Watt hot and including the secondary optic, far higher than that of rival products that utilize multiple emitters and reflectors. At full intensity, color rendering index (CRI) is 90 and LuxiTune maintains a CRI average of 85 and R9 red content of 70 as it dims. With a diameter of 50mm, LuxiTune makes it quick and easy to create a compact lighting fixture that works with standard 0-10V dimmers or via a DMX interface.

LED Engin, Inc announces the Studio White range of cool white LED emitters for designers of broadcast and studio lighting. The application demands high CRI in daylight color temperatures to make people look natural under artificial light. This is normally achieved using high intensity discharge (HID) arc lamps. However, such lamps are bulky, run very hot and need high electrical voltages from which to operate, creating potential health and fire hazards. They also suffer from deteriorating performance with age. LED Engin's Studio White emitters allow lighting designers to create fixtures that are smaller, lighter, deliver consistent performance over time, do not get excessively hot and run from safe, low voltages. They feature a daylight color temperature of 5300K, a color rendering index (CRI) of greater than 85 and R9 red content of 50 which results in natural rendering of skin tones and other colors. LED Engin, Inc announces the LZ4 flat lens family of compact, 4-die RGBW emitters for wash lamps and follow spots used in stage lighting applications. Two variants are available: LZ4 that can be driven to 1A and LZ4-Plus that can be driven to 1.5A per die, producing up to 550 and 725 lumens output respectively, some 30% more than rival products. The multi-color LED die, which are mounted onto LED Engin’s propriety, multi-later thermally efficient substrate, are capped with a flat glass primary lens.

LED Engin’s ViviLux Starter Kit enables rapid evaluation of CRI90 white light for high Lux-on-Target commercial applications

LED Engin, Inc announces that a Starter Kit for its award-winning ViviLux emitter-plus-lens LED lighting platform is now available from distributors Mouser Electronics (North America) and Farnell (Europe). Users will quickly find how fast and easy it is to assemble a working light source equivalent to a 100W halogen or 35W metal halide bulb using a single high power LED and secondary optic. Each starter kit contains a high-efficiency, CRI90 ViviLux LED emitter mounted on a thermally conductive metal core printed circuit board with solderless connector, plus total internal reflection (TIR) lenses for beam widths of 24°, 35° or 45°. The kit includes a power supply, 40W heatsink, interconnection wiring and mounting hardware.

LED Engin, Inc announces the LZ9 LuxiGenTM emitter, a new family of devices that deliver 2.5 times the lumens of existing LZ4 products within the same 7mm x 7mm footprint. The LZ9 emitter more than doubles the Lux on TargetTM, making it ideal for directional lighting fixtures such as the spot, accent and downlighting used in retail and commercial applications. LED Engin also offers a family of secondary total internal reflection (TIR) lenses in Spot, Narrow Flood and Flood beams compatible with the new LZ9-series. The LuxiGen single emitter/ single lens combination, available in color temperatures ranging from 2700K Warm White to 6500K Cool White, provides the equivalent performance of a 75W PAR20 or PAR30 halogen source (reference: ENERGY STAR Integral Lamp Center Beam Intensity Benchmark Tool).
