GigE PoE camera is based on the Sony ICX424 CCD
Expanding the company's Blackfly GigE PoE cameras (claimed to be the smallest PoE camera line in the world), Point Grey announce two VGA global shutter CCD models. The Blackfly BFLY-PGE-03S2 camera models are based on colour and monochrome versions of the Sony ICX424, a 1/3” charge-coupled device (CCD) featuring 7.4µm2 pixels and capable of 648x488pixel resolution at 84FPS.
Interoperability between Point Grey USB 3.0 cameras and MIL
Point Grey Research has announced plug-and-play interoperability between the company’s Grasshopper3 and Flea3 USB3 Vision cameras and Matrox Imaging Library (MIL), a comprehensive software tool for developing machine vision, image analysis and medical imaging software applications.

Point Grey has added two new 5 megapixel global shutter CCD models to its Grasshopper3 family of USB3 Vision cameras. The new Grasshopper3 GS3-U3-50S5 camera models are based on colour and monochrome versions of the Sony ICX625, a 2/3in. CCD sensor capable of streaming 2448 x 2048 resolution images at 15 FPS.
NIC reduces system costs for GigE cameras
A GigE PoE network interface card has been launched by Point Grey, adding to their existing ecosystem of Gigabit Ethernet cameras and accessories. The GIGE-PCIE2-2P02 NIC has 2 ports which provide up to 15.4W of power and has a dedicated Intel 82574L Gigabit Ethernet Controller that supports jumbo packets and maximum GigE bandwidth of 120MB/s.
USB3 CMOS camera provides enhanced NIR imaging
Expanding the Grasshopper3 family of high quality, high resolution USB 3.0 cameras, Point Grey has announced the addition of a 4.1MP CMOS model. Featuring improved near-infrared (NIR) response, the Grasshopper3 GS3-U3-41C6NIR uses a proprietary USB 3.0 link layer and frame buffer-based architecture for optimal performance and reliability.
