Entry-level scan head gains even more flexibility

Entry-level scan head gains even more flexibility
Provider of high-precision laser scan systems, SCANLAB, has introduced an additional variant of its entry-level basiCube scan head. This new basiCube model’s SL2-100 interface now allows direct control by RTC5 boards. Execution of highly elaborate laser jobs and more complex graphics is thus possible for laser marking, subsurface glass engraving or similar applications.

Smartphones improve laser processing quality

Smartphones improve laser processing quality
SCANLAB GmbH's CALsheet program places an exceptionally easy-to-use calibration solution into customer hands. The software enables simple correction of system-specific errors. With just a few steps, custom correction files can be generated that improve processing accuracy to as good as 30µm. In laser processing, highest quality is of capital concern.

Oscillating laser beam boosts cutting speed & accuracy

Oscillating laser beam boosts cutting speed & accuracy
SCANLAB GmbH has developed a scan system for oscillating-laser-beam cutting and welding. The welDYNA scan head unites the advantages of higher laser powers and maximum dynamics. Considerable process benefits are gained by welding and cutting with highfrequency beam oscillation, particularly in macro material processing of larger components. For example, thick metal sheets and fiber-reinforced plastics can be cut more quickly and cleanly. Diverse materials of poor weldability can be robustly bonded, too.
