Photorelay is suitable for factory automation
Toshiba Electronics Europe has released the TLP3122A photorelay for factory automation and other industrial applications including building automation, security and semiconductor testing. The photorelay integrates MOSFET devices fabricated using the latest U-MOS IX process to reduce on-state resistance. Housed in the small 4-pin SO6 package, the TLP3122A provides an off-state output terminal voltage (VOFF) of 60V, a constant on-state current (ION) of 1.4A and an on-state pulsed current (IONP) up to 4.2A.

Latest line-up of high speed signal transmission photorelays
Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced the launch of two high speed signal transmission photorelays that offer the industry’s smallest footprint. The TLP3475S features low on-state output resistance (RON) – typically 1.1Ω and offers fast switching times of 0.5ms (ton) and 0.4ms (toff). The device is rated for 60V (VOFF) and a max. current of 0.4A (ION). The device is housed in an S-VSON4 package measuring just 2.00mm x 1.45mm x 1.65mm.

  Housed in a 5-pin 3.7x7.0x2.2mm SO6 package, Toshiba Electronics Europe has unveiled the TLX9310, a low power consumption photocoupler. The new device is intended for high-speed communication in automotive applications, especially Battery Management Systems (BMS).

IC photocouplers provide option for wide leadform
With a new wide leadform package type SO6L(LF4), Toshiba Electronics Europe has expanded its line-up of SO6L IC photocouplers. The wide leadform option is available for three high-speed IC photocouplers and five IGBT/MOSFET driver photocouplers. The new photocouplers can be directly mounted on PCB pads intended for SDIP6(F type) products. The SO6L(LF4)’s 2.3mm (max.) low profile package offers a 45% height reduction over SDIP6(F Type) and allows use in height-critical applications, such as mounting on the underside of PCBs.

High current photorelay range expands with 60 and 100V products
Two additions have been added to Toshiba Electronics Europe's line-up of photorelays; the 60V TLP3407S and the 100V TLP3409S. These devices are packaged in S-VSON4, the 2.00x1.45mm package with what it claims to be the industry's smallest mounting area. The new products realise high voltages while retaining the features of the existing TLP3406S, which offers a 30V rating with large on-state current rating and small size.

Mid-voltage range photorelays offer increased reliability
Two new mid-voltage, high current photorelays have been launched by Toshiba Electronics Europe: the 100V TLP3823 with a 3A drive current, and the 200V TLP3825 with a 1.5A drive current. The new products will extend the range of large current photorelays to replace mechanical relays, alongside Toshiba’s current 60V, 5A TLP3547. Toshiba is supporting and promoting the accelerated replacement of mechanical relays by applying its latest trench MOSFET structure, 8th generation UMOS, to realise output currents exceeding 1A.

Smart gate driver photocoupler for medium power IGBTs
Suitable for driving medium power IGBTs and power MOSFETs, Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced the launch of a new smart gate driver photocoupler (TLP5214A). The TLP5214A is intended for multiple applications where MOSFETs and IGBTs are used including industrial inverters, solar energy inverters, air conditioner inverters and servo amplifiers. The TLP5214A integrates such features as desaturation leading edge blanking time, filtering time, and optimisation of soft turn-off performance.

Toshiba has introduced a range of 10 AEC Q101-qualified photocouplers designed to address the demanding isolation, interface, switching and form factor requirements of automotive applications. Supplied in low-profile SO6 packages, the TLX9304, TLX9378 and TLX9376 are IC output photocouplers offering respective data rates of 1Mbps, 10Mbps and 20Mbps. Also in S06 packaging are the TLX9300 and TLX9185A transistor output and TLX9905 and TLX9906 photovoltaic output devices.

Two halogen-free photorelays have been introduced by Toshiba, offering minimum isolation voltage of 3750VRMS. The TLP172AM and TLP172GM are housed in 4-pin SO6 packages that can operate at a maximum temperature of +110°C. Both products can be used to replace mechanical relays and are suited to designs demanding high-performance switching, electrical isolation and extended temperature operation.

Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced a 9-channel output LED driver IC that will save board space and reduce the size of LED modules in a variety of lighting and illumination applications. The TB62D786FTG has a single-wire Manchester-encoded interface, which is often used for wireless communication. Built-in daisy-chain pins and a 5V output LDO, capable of handling inputs from 7 to 28V, improve the extendibility of the IC.

Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced two digital output isolation amplifiers for current and voltage sensing in power converters. The TLP7830 and TLP7930 achieve high accuracy through the inclusion of a delta sigma ADC. A choice of two package types are available: TLP7930 is supplied in an industry-standard DIP8 package and the TLP7830 is available in a compact SO8L package, which takes up 30% less board space and features a 40% lower profile.

Suited for switching voltage regulator designs, a range of ultra-efficient, high-speed, high-voltage MOSFETs has been unveiled by Toshiba Electronics Europe. Available with 800 and 900V ratings, the four N-channel devices have typical on resistance ratings down to just 1.9Ω. Target applications include flyback converters in LED lighting, supplementary power supplies and other circuits requiring current switching below 5A.

Claimed to be the industry's first with a DMOS FET type source-output driver, Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced the launch of a new generation of highly efficient transistor arrays. The TBD62783A series succeeds the TD62783 series of bipolar transistor arrays, cutting power loss by about 40%. They are suited for use in a wide range of applications including LED drives.

Expanding its portfolio of low input current transistor photocouplers, Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced a a pair of 4-channel versions. The TLP292-4 and TLP293-4 operate over a wide temperature range from -55 to +125˚C and can be used for a variety of high-density surface mount applications including PLCs, switching power supplies and simplex or multiplex data transmissions.

Thin high-speed photocoupler suits industrial automation
Toshiba has launched a photocoupler featuring high speed data transmission (20Mb/s) and a very thin package that offers protection against extreme operating temperatures. The TLP2768A integrates a high-reliability infrared LED in its input side, and has an open-collector output type high-speed Photo-IC in its output side that is capable of data transmission at 20Mbps and of supporting both 3.3V and 5V power supplies.

NIR 2.1MP CMOS image sensor enables iris recognition
Designed to improve security on mobile devices, Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched its first CMOS image sensor to enable iris recognition, the 2.1MP T4KE1. The device captures images for recognition with higher sensitivity than conventional CMOS image sensors by omitting the usual colour filter in the pixel structure, which increases sensitivity in the NIR (Near-InfraRed) spectrum.
