At the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair, which takes place from 27th-30th October 2014, NXP Semiconductors will be exhibiting it’s core segment LED driver platforms. The SSL5021/31 platform is designed for non-dimmable LED applications, while the SSL5231 platform is designed for dimmable LED applications.

The drivers, which are designed to be low cost and easy to design in, are suitable for applications ranging from Candela shaped lamps that use 5W of power to integrated fixtures/luminairies, TLED or PAR lamps that require 25W of power. For dimmable applications such as remote-controlled luminairies and smart lamps, the SSL5231 driver platform is equipped with a control input signal. NXP Semiconductors will be exhibiting the core segment LED driver platforms in booth 5B-F07.

“NXP has long been a leader in LED solutions. With the success of our SSL5301 and SSL3401 product releases earlier this year which targeted the professional space, we are now bringing professional performance to the core segments,” said Ryan Zahn, General Manager, Lighting Solutions Product Line, NXP Semiconductors. “With one chipset that applies to all global markets along with our demo boards and design tools, manufacturers can now easily customise their applications to their desired specification, resulting in an extremely short time to market.”
