GAO Fiber Optics has launched the innovative handheld fiber optic OTDR for telecommunication networks. With the unique hot key design, this handheld fiber optic OTDR is convenient and quick to conduct, review and analyze test results.
This handheld fiber optic OTDR, model C0250001, has the advantages of a compact size, easy operation, high test dynamic range, complete function, high measurement precision and low-battery indication. It provides average and real time test modes. It can be used in both single mode (1310/1550 nm) and multi mode (850/1300 nm) fiber applications. The OTDR tests the length of the optical cable or optical fiber, distance, loss, attenuation coefficient between two points, insertion loss of the optical connector, return loss of the fiber and also gives the distribution curve to describe fiber loss. It can save up to 300 test curves and transfers them to a computer for data analysis, reporting and printing via the included software. This fiber optic OTDR is resistant to dust, moisture and shock allowing it to perform well even in harsh outdoor environments. Additionally, the OTDR is complete with adaptors for connection to different fiber types.

This handheld fiber optic OTDR belongs to GAO’s family of OTDRs. This line also includes Multi-Function Optical Time Domain Reflectometer which can be used for testing in a variety of fiber optic applications including WDM, MAN, FTTH and LAN network. This line of products is commonly used to characterize the loss and length of fibers and is specially designed for fiber network construction and maintenance in FTTx, WAN and CATV systems.
