GAO Fiber Optics has launched its fiber optic Ethernet card which is designed to operate at 100 Mbps and uses 32 bit PCI local bus-master for high throughput and low processor utilization. The card is suitable for use in applications where the access to information point distance is over 100 m.
This plug-and-play Ethernet card complies with IEEE802.3U, IEEE802.3x, IEEE802.1q VLAN MARK and ACPI 1.0, DMI 2.0, PCI 2.2 standards. It features full-duplex or half-duplex operation and low power consumption. The card provides users with a reliable fiber to the home (FTTH) and fiber to the desktop solutions. It offers a range of options such as connector type, single or multi-mode optical fiber compatibility and operating distance to meet the requirement of various applications. In single mode, it provides a simplex single wavelength of 1310 nm and a transmission distance of 15/40/60 km and a simplex double wavelength of TX 1310 nm /RX 1550 nm and a transmission distance of 15/40/60 km; in multi-mode, it provides a wavelength of 1310 nm and a transmission distance of 2 km. It has passed FCC CLASS B and CE certification. In addition, it is compatible with Novell Netware, LAN Manager, Windows9x/NT, WFW and SCO UNIX.

This Ethernet card belongs to GAO’s 10/100M family which also includes 10/100M Media Converter, Fast Ethernet Fiber Converter and other similar products. The line of products is commonly used for Ethernet networks to convert signals from one media type to that of another.
