A fibre-coupled laser platform, which can be configured for integration into standard and intra-operative diagnostic devices and surgical and therapeutical equipment, has been introduced by Z-LASER. The ZFSM platform is offered in a configuration that projects a calibrated matrix in 780nm wavelength, providing a defect map of the visualised area.

For intra-operative diagnoses and highly targeted area illumination applications, the platform is offered as an RGB module with a miniaturised optical head. Functionally safe, both configurations feature Z-LASER’s control electronics, including first-fault secure protocol.

With a choice of any wavelength between visible and near-infrared, the platform is suitable for a wide range of applications. Unlike a classical laser system which provides a single wavelength source, Z-LASER’s platform is available in a multi-wavelength configuration. By mixing different colours in the optical output head, each wavelength can be controlled individually. Customisations such as classical or miniaturised optics, as well as application specific dimensions, are available on request. Certified to IEC-60825:2007 (applies to all laser classes) and IEC 60601-2-22 (class 3R and above) standards, the ZFSM platform is suitable, as mentioned, for use in the medical market.
