Responding to the increased demand for DALI control for LED lighting applications, MEAN WELL have introduced the DAP-04 series to make it possible to control LED lighting fixtures with DALI. Equipped with both DALI dimming and push-dim functions, the device converts the DALI signal transmitted from the controller to PWM, and then the PWM signal can control the lighting fixtures through the “3-in1 dimming” interface.

Each output channel of DAP-04 can connect with the dimming control input of MEAN WELL’s LED PSU. With four output channels on the converter, this means that up to 80 DAP-04 devices can be connected. Each channel has an independent DALI address and can be controlled separately. This meets the requirements of intelligent lighting control systems which need high efficiency and flexibility. Additionally, the output PWM signal can adjust the LED output current according to the different press time of dimmer, by adding the external push dimmer.

Operating over a temperature range from -30 to +60°C, the DAP-04 series converters feature power consumption of less than 0.5W and an input voltage range of 90-305V ac. Enclosed in a fully isolated UL 94V-0 rated plastic case and with a Class II double isolation design, the DALI to PWM converters can effectively prevent users from electrical shock. In order to enable a more convenient wiring installation, the I/O terminals of DAP-04 series are designed with screw-less clamp style terminal block. Other standard functions include built-in relay contact for the ON/OFF control of LED PSUs.

Recommended for use with MEAN WELL’s AC/DC LED drivers with 3-in-1 dimming function, the DAP-04 series DALI to PWM converters are suitable for applications including household lighting, office lighting, indoor LED decorative lighting, and any other lighting that requires DALI controlled operation.
