Supporting up to 18W lighting applications such as TLED and PAR lamp shapes, the SSL5015 and SSL5018 LED controller ICs have been announced by NXP Semiconductors. The LED controllers offer customers a cost-effective, non-isolated solution with a high lamp power factor up to 0.9 for US and Japan (SSL5015) or Europe and Asia (SSL5018).

Complementing NXP’s GreenChip SSL family, the LED controllers feature an integrated MOSFET. The devices simplify lamp design with the right form factor to streamline the design-in process and extend lifetime and reliability.

NXP has also introduced four reference boards, added to the NXP LED Driver Solutions Selection Guide. The boards can be quickly and easily tailored to suit individual needs using NXP’s online design too, which decreases time-to-market and reduces margin for error with simulation capabilities.

“Building on NXP’s industry-leading lighting portfolio, the SSL5015 and SSL5018 supports the global adoption of energy-saving LEDs without compromising power or wattage. With our online design tool, manufacturers can now customise the demo board to their desired specification, resulting in quicker time to market,” comments Ryan Zahn, General Manager, Lighting Solutions, NXP Semiconductors.
