The AL58xx series provides a low BOM-cost solution for a range of applications in the commercial and industrial areas including signage, instrumentation illumination, lighting of appliance interiors, architectural details and general smart-lighting installat...
Ultra high-speed camera tests fuel-injectors
The Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics (LTT) at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) tested a Kirana Ultra High-Speed camera to visualise the transient opening process of fuel-injectors in one of their high-pressure injection chambers, Specialised Imaging reported.
CMOS sensor features on-pixel polariser for object detection
Sony Semiconductor has released its new Preguis IMX250 sensor with a four-directional polarisation square pixel array, providing higher contrast for more detailed pictures in less time. The 5.07MP sensor, with a 2/3" optical format, has a 2448x2048 pixel array utilising a 3.45µm pixel size. The IMX250 reaches a frame rate of 144fps at 10 bits.
Highest flux two-die mid power LED for general lighting
Lumileds has introduced an addition to its mid power family, the new LUXEON 3030 2D with a square LES, which is specifically optimised for high flux and maximum reliability in a variety of general lighting applications including downlights, high bay & low bay fixtures and outdoor lighting applications.
How lighting sensors can help keep people safe
Increasing safety in Graz's Volksgarten is a key goal of both the local authorities and the 'GEMEINSAM.SICHER in Graz' association. Together with Zumtobel Group Services (ZGS), they have launched a pilot project to install intelligent luminaires in part of the public garden in the Austrian city, using vandal-resistant fittings that deliver high light levels and smart connectivity.
UVC-band, deep ultra-violet LEDs target air purification
Ledtech UK, the European branch of one the world’s largest capacity LED manufacturers, has launched an LED series that operates in the UVC, deep-ultraviolet wavelength band, targeted at applications including air purification and water and surface disinfectant systems.
