TerraLUX, Inc., introduced the latest in its line of LightStar™ LED flashlights: the LightStar80™ penlight.
The LightStar80 is unique among LED penlights in that it uses a high CRI (color rendering index) LED. The Color Rendering Index measures the ability of a light source to represent colors as they appear in natural light. A high CRI is useful when working with electrical systems involving multi-colored wires, as in automotive repair, HVAC, telephone systems or other applications.

The LightStar80 also features a rubber bite grip for hands-free use, comes with a pocket clip and two AA batteries, and is available in standard grey and high-visibility orange. Like other LightStar flashlights, it is electronically regulated to ensure constant light output and has logic built in that makes the LED flicker at the end of battery life to alert the user to change the batteries. The light is activated with a tail cap switch that allows for a momentary beam or regular on/off. It has an 80 lumen output and a runtime of 5 hours.

All TerraLUX flashlights, worklights and flashlight upgrades are available through tool distributors, auto supply shops, hardware stores, police and public safety retailers and online.
