Auer Lighting has its own optical design software and specialised equipment to produce the full range of refractive and reflective LED glass optics. The Jupiter product line is designed for advanced LED luminaires featuring no glare and defined beam angles.

The Jupiter combines a lens and a reflector, merging two optical concepts in one product. The central lens greatly reduces the amount of direct emission from the LED that typically leads to unwanted light spill. The reflector directs the light via its facetted free-form surface into a defined angular cone, forming nicely shaped Lambertian distributions. The durable dichroic coating, using Auer's patented PICVD technology, results in a reflectivity of more than 95%.

Since the whole optics is a single-piece design, the LED below (CoBor LED with primary lens) is protected against environmental influences. Pressed-in SNAP IT features enable an easy mounting as well as auser-friendly exchange to other beam angles in the luminaire. The optic is made from durable SUPRAX glass that easily withstands temperatures up to 450°C. It lasts even under harsh conditions. No yellowing effect is seen, nor any degradation overtime.

The surface of the glass and even the coating is easy to clean, scratch-resistant and guarantees longest life times. The Jupiter optic is now available as 50mm diameter version withnarrow, medium and flood beam angles, best for LEDs with 6mm LES or below. The same beam angles are available for the slightly larger 70mm version, which is optimised for LEDs with a LES of 9mm and below.
