Suitable for applications including inverter interfaces and general-purpose power supplies, a transistor output photocoupler has been introduced by Toshiba Electronics Europe. The TLP385 offers a high isolation performance, guaranteeing a minimum isolation voltage of 5kVrms.

Operating over a temperature range from -55 to +110°C, the TLP385 features a maximum height of just 2.3mm in a wide body SO6L package. This provides a 45% reduction from and can be used to replace conventional DIP4 packages.

The photocoupler offers a minimum creepage and clearance distance of 8mm and, therefore, can be used in situations where there are strict height limits, aiding the development of ultra low profile products.

Approved to UL, cUL and CQC safety standards, the TLP385 and is also available as VDE EN60747-5-5 approved type.
