Manufacturer of fibre optic kinetic sensors for industrial and medical applications, Micronor has announced that it has been certified under ISO 9001:2015 as of 5th March, 2018. The company earned certification from registrar TUV Nord USA.

Led by Micronor’s Operations Manager, Daniel Montes, this certification further assures Micronor’s customers of the company’s ongoing commitment to quality and reliability under the global quality standard. It is a major milestone for Micronor that will further enhance its traction in the global marketplace.

“Formal ISO certification is helping us further grow the company,” said Robert Rickenbach, President and Chief Engineer.

“While maintaining our high quality standards and satisfying customer needs to seamlessly integrate us into their quality system.”

As a manufacturer of fibre optic kinetic sensors, Micronor has amassed a number of 'world firsts' and industry awards. In 2003, Micronor developed the MR310 series, the world’s first commercial fibre optic incremental encoders, which was followed by the award of US Patent 7,196,320 in 2007.

In 2010, the MR330 was released as the world’s first commercial 13-bit fibre optic absolute rotary encoder with US Patent 8,461,514 to follow in 2013.

Other 'world firsts' were the release of these products in MRI-compatible versions at the bequest of the medical industry. In 2017, Micronor was awarded the ECN Impact Award for the MR386, the World’s First V-series compatible Fibre Optic Microswitch.
