Thermopile detectors requiring no cooling
LASER COMPONENTS has a long-established relationship with Dexter Research Centre. Thermopile detectors are passive radiation sensing devices requiring no bias or cooling and generate an output voltage in the range of micro to millivolts. The spectral absorption of these detectors is flat from the UV to the far infrared with wavelength sensitivity only limited by the choice of the optical element which seals the TO can.
Nokia selects VIAVI to validate performance of coherent optical modules
Viavi Solutions has announced that Nokia has validated its coherent optical modules using the VIAVI ONT 800G FLEX DCO Module, which tests pluggable (CFP2) Digital Coherent Optics (DCO) modules. Nokia utilised this test capability as a beta customer, providing valuable feedback, and ultimately purchased the first ONT 800G FLEX DCO Module upon release.
Smartoptics introduces the DCP-F family of active optical units
Smartoptics has announced the availability of the DCP-F family of active optical units for xWDM open line systems. The new family allows for an unprecedented flexibility in configuring optical point-to-point, ring and mesh networks at the lowest possible cost. All products in the DCP-F family are available for immediate delivery.
Toshiba new compact-sized photorelay P-SON4 package
Toshiba Electronics Europe has introduced more photorelays to its expansive portfolio. All three of these devices are housed in the new P-SON4 package format. They are able to deliver very strong performance characteristics, while taking up significantly less board space than commonly used SOP packages
Photorelays from Toshiba reduce mounting density
Toshiba Electronics Europe has launched three new photorelays, the TLP3407SRA, TLP3475SRHA and TLP3412SRHA. With a 2.0x1.45mm footprint, they are some of the smallest voltage-driven photorelays on the market and offer an extended operating temperature rating of 125°C.
Application optimised machine vision lenses
Resolve Optics has announced that it offers a service to design, develop and supply application optimised machine vision lenses for any industrial and robotic image processing application. High quality construction, coupled with precision engineering, results in outstanding machine vision lenses that deliver sharp, high-resolution and optically precise images.
Tuneable light source at LASER COMPONENTS
LASER COMPONENTS has announced that it now offers the Tuneable Light Source (TLS) module from partners Dynasil Optometrics. The TLS is an integration of Optometrics’ own Mini-Chrom monochromator, and an efficient power stabilised broadband tungsten halogen light source with variable aperture.
Lumileds ensures uniform dimming performance in LEDs
Lumileds has introduced the first LED engineered for architectural applications that require uniform light output through the entire dimming range and operating conditions. The new LUXEON 3030 HE Plus Deep Dimming mid-power LED is designed for LED to LED flux uniformity across the entire dimming curve – down to one percent - that is required to achieve consistent visual performance.
Vuzix smart glasses powered by micro-LEDs
Vuzix has announced that it is is developing next generation product line of smart glasses powered by micro-LED technology that are expected to become available in 2021. The next generation line of micro-LED powered smart glasses from Vuzix will range from a reasonably priced consumer-facing product to a higher end enterprise version with built-in cellular connectivity.
ERA Protect floodlight camera arrives
As part of the next generation of wireless smart home security, ERA has introduced the ERA Protect Floodlight Camera. Accredited by the BSI IoT (British Standards Institute Internet of Things), the innovative Floodlight Camera is part of the new ERA Protect range, which also includes the Alarm and Outdoor Camera.
