Measurement for large-size street and industrial LED luminaires
MKS Instruments has announced the Ophir FluxGage FG1500, the newest member of the FluxGage family of compact measurement systems for LED luminaires. The FG1500 features an aperture size of 144 x 64cm, allowing for photometric measurement of large-size street and industrial luminaires, LED flat panels, and troffer lights. Photometric measurements include total luminous flux (up to 80,000lm), spectrum and colour parameters (CCT, CRI, TM-30), and flicker.

First OTA beam hopping test successfully concluded

Current satellite communication systems use static beams, with little or no options of adjusting beam capacity to a varying demand. Beam hopping, based on the DVB-S2X broadcasting standard, allows redirecting capacity between beams, making satellite systems more flexible and efficient. Working with WORK Microwave and Eutelsat, the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS has successfully demonstrated beam hopping in an over-the-air test for the first time.

Compact device WaveEye offers precise wavelength measurement
The portfolio of LASER COMPONENTS now includes WaveEye, a compact and versatile wavelength measuring device for cw or quasi-cw lasers between 450nm and 950nm. The measurement data is available at a rate of 1kHz without any warm-up delay. It can be used for an optical input power range between 0.1uW and 1mW. The digital measured value output is carried out via a USB connection, which also serves as a power supply.
