Banner Engineering release the LM Series laser measurement sensor for precise measurement of challenging, real-world targets.

The LM Series laser measurement sensor provides best-in-class performance with high stability, reliability, and precision. The LM Series provides reliable quality and process control with 0.004 mm resolution and repeatably measures targets of varying color and reflectivity.  The sensor measures real targets (not just a white card) in actual industrial environments where ambient temperature, vibrations, and other conditions can greatly impact measurement accuracy. With response speeds as fast as 0.5 ms and a sampling rate of 0.25 ms, the LM reliably solves high speed applications with fast-moving targets.

In addition, LM sensors feature a thermally stable design that resists temperature changes, as well as enhanced mounting stability, for high accuracy in the toughest environments. The LM has a temperature effect of just +/-0.008 mm/°C. This is imperative for high precision applications since even a few degrees of temperature change can cause other sensors’ measurement error to double. 

The LM series can be programmed via IO-Link, with the remote Teach function, or using the removeable remote sensor display (RSD). The RSD enables simple sensor setup, recipe control, and configuration storage, as well as easy monitoring of sensors in difficult-to-access locations.  The RSD can either remain in-line or be removed after configuration.

The LM series is an ideal solution for a wide variety of measurement applications including precise part inspection, assembly and accuracy checks, dimensional control, product position control, correct product placement, thickness measurement, and more.
