Introducing Buy American Act compliant LED T8 tubes
It has been announced by MaxLite, that Buy American Act (BAA) compliant LED T8 tubes to support government, military, education and healthcare facilities in their lighting upgrades, are available.
A broad range of fibre optic solutions have become available
Having been developing fibre optic connectors for four decades, as soon as fibre optics began to be used in telecommunications and manufacturing, SOURIAU knew that connector solutions adapted to this technology had to be invented, which were radically different from those designed for electrical connections.
5-megapixel colour imaging module enhances image quality
Availability of the Digilent Pcam 5C fixed-focus colour imaging module which is designed for use with FPGA development boards has been announced by RS Components. The module represents a reliable peripheral for electronics design engineers building devices with embedded camera applications.
Compact device WaveEye offers precise wavelength measurement
The portfolio of LASER COMPONENTS now includes WaveEye, a compact and versatile wavelength measuring device for cw or quasi-cw lasers between 450nm and 950nm. The measurement data is available at a rate of 1kHz without any warm-up delay. It can be used for an optical input power range between 0.1uW and 1mW. The digital measured value output is carried out via a USB connection, which also serves as a power supply.
Turning silicon photonics into a competitive asset for the electronics industry
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, together with Tampere University of Technology (TUT), has accelerated the development and commercialisation of silicon photonics products as part of the renewal of the Finnish electronics industry. With the help of silicon photonics, companies can develop increasingly compact, more efficient and more affordable products, where optical signals are used for such purposes as precise measuring, laser imaging ...
COUNT: single photon detection from 350 to 1000nm
LASER COMPONENTS’ COUNT series of photon counting modules has been developed to offer a combination of high quantum efficiency, wide dynamic range and ease of use for photon counting applications. Combining our ultra-low-noise avalanche photodiodes with specially developed quenching and signal processing electronics, the COUNT series offers everything needed for single photon detection from 350 - 1000nm.
Chameleon-inspired nanolaser changes colours
As a chameleon shifts its colour from turquoise to pink to orange to green, nature’s design principles are at play. Complex nano-mechanics are quietly and effortlessly working to camouflage the lizard’s skin to match its environment. Inspired by nature, a Northwestern University team has developed a novel nanolaser that changes colours using the same mechanism as chameleons.
Tower lights with custom display and animation capabilities
Banner Engineering has announced TL50 Pro Tower Lights with IO-Link. The multi-segment indicators provide the capacity for custom indication and greater clarity in communicating status. TL50 Pro Tower Lights with IO-Link utilise bright, multicolor RGB LED lights, enabling millions of colour options in each light segment. IO-Link provides full control of segment color, flash, rotation, and intensity. Segments can be configured individually for sim...
High-current LEDs can be driven at up to 3600mA
Cree XLamp CMA high-current LEDs which feature optical-source sizes and package sizes consistent with the standard-density CXA2 series are in stock at RS Components. Similarity with CXA2 LEDs helps developers create higher-performing variants of existing lighting products to satisfy new market opportunities efficiently.
Creating a performance to remember at Wembley Arena
In a city already brimming with famous landmarks, the imposing SSE Arena Wembley in London holds a special place in the hearts of many. For generations, it has been a venue where memories have been created, thanks to it hosting countless music, comedy, family entertainment and sporting events since it opened its doors in 1934. Originally commissioned to host the British Empire Games, since then it has been home to popular TV shows like the X-Fact...
